What we collect
Depending on how you use RentalOS, we may collect:
- Account details such as your name, email address, phone number and login details.
- Business information such as your shop name, business details and locations.
- Customer and order information that your shop enters, including identification or KYC documents.
- Information you share in an early-access form, such as your name, business, phone number and what you rent.
- Basic technical and usage information, such as your device, browser and how the service is used.
Why we use it
We use this information to provide and run RentalOS, keep accounts secure, support your shop, improve the product, understand early-access interest and meet legal obligations where needed.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help run RentalOS, such as hosting, database and email providers. They receive only what they need to provide those services and must protect it. We never sell your data.
Storage and security
Your information is stored with the providers used to operate RentalOS. We use reasonable safeguards to protect it from unauthorised access, loss and misuse. No online service can promise perfect security, but we work to protect the information in our care.
Retention and deletion
We keep information while your account is active and for as long as it is needed for the purposes above or required by law. You can ask us to delete your information by emailing us. Some information may need to be kept for legal, security or dispute records.
Cookies
RentalOS currently uses only essential cookies and similar storage needed for things such as signing in, security and remembering your basic preferences. We do not currently use advertising cookies.
Your rights in India
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may have rights to access your personal data, correct it, ask for deletion, request an export and raise a grievance. Email us at rentalos.dev@gmail.com and we will help with your request.
Children
RentalOS is for rental businesses and is not intended for children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when RentalOS or the law changes. We will update the date at the top and, where a change is important, give a clearer notice.
